Depending on the piece, I use many different techniques - usually a combination of several.  Currently, my production work includes the cushions, bags etc., furniture upholstery and redesign as well as seasonal goods; most of which are felted.

The techniques I generally employ include:

pattern drafting, sewing, screen printing, dyeing (natural and chemical), felting - wet, needle and nuno, carding, spinning, knitting, embroidery (machine and hand)

Screen Printing (Silkscreening)

Screen printing involves pushing ink through a fine mesh screen (sometimes referred to as silkscreening as screens were made from a silk mesh rather than the current polyester fibres).  The screen is coated with emulsion then exposed with a black transparency of the desired image.  The image is burned away allowing ink to be pushed through the tiny mesh openings.
